G&M Delivers Massive Lump Crab in Linthicum Heights
There is something deeply satisfying about a soup that looks exactly right before it even touches your lips. This bowl arrived with a perfect cream color, reminiscent of a nice cracker, avoiding any jarring orange or pale extremes. While the broth leaned slightly on the watery side for my thick-and-creamy preferences, it more than made up for it with a velvety, buttery texture that coated my mouth beautifully. I noted a stronger peppery kick rather than the usual Old Bay warmth, which added a unique savory depth to every spoonful.
The real star here was undoubtedly the crab. Though the overall ratio favored the cream, the lumps themselves were absolutely massive. These were big, firm chunks of Maryland blue crab that clearly tasted fresh and briny, proving they were folded in after the soup was made to preserve their texture. It is rare to find such generous, high-quality pieces floating around like this.
At just seven dollars for a cup or nine for a bowl near Glen Burnie, this spot offers incredible value without sacrificing quality. It is a solid, flavorful stop that proves you do not need downtown prices to get a fantastic taste of Maryland’s finest seafood tradition.
